Hi, I’m David
I love what I do, and I feel so lucky to help people find their voices, their hearts, and meet their goals.
My own journey of transformation has been my greatest teacher. I have lived these questions, and learned many of the tools used in my practice through my own experience. I leaned on these tools to manage a cooperative divorce, co-parenting, self-expansion, several personal reinventions, inner growth, and personal healing. I know they work, first hand.
I am, at heart, an artist, and human relationship is one medium through which I work.
I am attracted to the organic and natural systems that already exist. My values are to learn from and embrace ourselves as a part of nature and therefore a part of her systems…I am bare feet on sand, a hike in the woods, connecting around a fire, quaking with grief. With me what you get is the real human experience.
In 2013 I was running a culinary arts education program at a non-profit educational farm in Pescadero, CA.
It was my dream job at the time. I was teaching my passions for food, healthy relationship with land, and soft skills to teens about how to navigate life, relationships, and communication. Even though my title was “educator”, I was coaching.
At that time, the news had been alight with #metoo and #blaacklivesmatter movements. I was 34 years old and concerned about how to engage with the humanitarian issues that plagued us. I could see how these relational problems were tied to the destruction of our planet. Our neglect and disrespect for human lives was emblematic of our relationship with our planet. Patriarchy, racism, and fear were destroying our access to life.
In my quest for answers my therapist gave me a copy of Robert Bly’s Iron John (a book about men), thus initiating my return across the threshold to men’s work and planting the seed for Iron John Coaching which was the name of my coaching practice until 2025.
As my work and the political and social climate has evolved so has my deep mission to help humanity navigate changing social and environmental climates (metacrises) through mastery of relational tools.
Statement of
Inclusion & Awareness
When we include all voices and dig deep to find ways to bridge across those voices, we act to suture the wounds of the planet.
I am LGBTQA+ allied. I hold the value of building bridges across divides. I support climate and racial justice and the authentic voice of all peoples.
As a member of the global minority, I am committed to fostering an inclusive environment that recognizes and values the diverse experiences and perspectives that shape our shared humanity.
My business is humbly operating on the unceeded lands of the Awaswas-speaking Uyupi Tribe represented by the Amah-Mutsun Tribal Band.
After many years of training and experience, my work has become an amplified expression of what I’ve been doing all along—helping others find their power, cooperate with nature and each other, and navigate life so that we can focus on what really matters—sustaining life.
